Joe Kim currently educates in the Theology Department at Holy Family High School College Preparatory, where he teaches the Introduction to Catholicism and Church History classes. At his parish, he has served as the High School Youth Minister for the past five years, directing numerous Spiritual Retreats, Summer Camps and Staff Development training workshops. He now leads the Confirmation program, and works with the Music Ministry team.
It was in teaching about faith that Joe says he himself experienced continual conversions and fell in love with the faith. With an ardent desire to create art that was as beautiful as the faith he professed, PAL Campaign was born.
Originally an animator and commercial artist, Joe was approached by the Youth Minister at his parish about designing a t-shirt for an upcoming youth event. Never having designed for clothing, but eager to take on the challenge, Joe’s first t-shirt design, one for a Steubenville West Conference, was created and well received. The students who received these free “Church T-Shirts” began to wear them to school and even when going out with friends, always receiving compliments or questions about where they got them. Over the next several years, Joe designed all of the church’s retreat, conference, summer camp, and event t-shirts, gaining technical skill and knowledge about the t-shirt and screen printing industries.
Joe Kim hopes to continue experiencing personal conversions for the rest of his life, and to create attractive art for the Catholic Church.
